Ensuring the privacy and security of patient information is paramount. In Cliniko, treatment notes are accessible only by the provider who created them and the clinic administrator. Each provider has a unique API key, which, when entered into Cliniq Apps, ensures that patient form submissions are linked to the correct provider.
Why API Keys Matter
Privacy and Security: Each provider’s API key restricts access to sensitive patient data.
Accurate Data Linking: API keys allow Cliniq Apps to automatically associate patient form submissions with the correct Cliniko provider.
Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Confirm Your Cliniko API Key
Before you begin, verify that each practitioner already has a generated API key in their Cliniko account. This guide assumes you have your API key. If you need assistance with generating an API key, please contact Cliniko support directly.
2. Integrate the API Key into Cliniq Apps
Access Cliniq Apps: Log in to your Cliniq Automations account.
Navigate to Settings:
Paste the API Key: Insert the API key into the corresponding field (use Ctrl+V on Windows or Command+V on macOS).
Save Changes: Click the Save button to update the record.
3. Repeat for All Providers
Ensure that you follow the above steps for every practitioner in your organization for accurate data synchronization.
Just a quick reminder: Ensure that the provider is set as an active user in Cliniko by checking under Settings → Users & Practitioners. If you have questions about it, please contact Cliniko support.
